What is unique about the nature of Law Enforcement that should give us pause before we consider “defunding” it? How is Law Enforcement different than any other profession, and how should this distinction shape and set the standard for our behavior as police officers? What does Christianity teach about the nature of humans that can help us understand how we ought to serve our communities? Pastor Tom Goodman from HillCrest Church interviews J. Warner about his experience and observations as part of a three generation law enforcement family.
To our law enforcement family: Don’t give up, don’t be discouraged. Your work is foundational. These are tough times, so it’s important to remember the source of our strength and the center of our hope. You won’t find it at your agency. You won’t find it in your city council or local leadership. You won’t find it in a national political party. You’ll find it, instead, in the God who created you and has commissioned you for this great work.
If you haven’t done it yet, take the time to investigate the case for God’s existence and the truth of Christianity. Life is short and unpredictable. But those of us who have placed our trust and faith in Jesus Christ can enter each day with confidence about our eternal future.
